Today!

photo (73)We can live somewhere between regret over the past and fear for the future. The truth is when we do live in those places we allow the present to slip past us. It’s in the present that life happens.

We were made to be light and free. God created us to be free of heavy emotional weights. He made us in His image for love, relationship and mission.

When we lost our way, we lost our purpose. God wouldn’t’ leave us lost, He sent love incarnate to earth for us. Jesus left Heaven for earth and dwelt among us. He gave His life at the cross, so we could step into His place as the ‘beloved child of God’.

As we receive Jesus into our heart, we become children of God upon whom the Father lavishes His love. We can bring Jesus our regrets and worries and exchange them for His light and easy yoke.

Now we get a forever fresh start and an endless clean slate. We also can have a confident expectation of good because God is with us, for us and on our side. As we walk daily with Jesus we can be in the moment with Him and access the grace for today.

Matthew 6:30And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?

Seeing the Beauty

mountains-panorama-1It is easy to think upon the negative. We can follow negative thoughts so far that we believe that things are hopeless. The world is full of brokenness and suffering but it’s also full of beauty and overcoming those things as well.

We were made for an intimate loving relationship with our creator, healthy relationship with others, and mission. We were designed to overcome adversity, help others and leave a legacy on the planet.

God plucked us from eternity and placed us in our time and location to steward His plans. Even when we forgot about God, He didn’t start over. He loved us so much that He sent His precious only son to earth to rescue, redeem and restore us back to our original design.

Now through Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross, we can be children of God upon whom the Father lavishes His love. As we spend time cultivating our prayer life, we can get our minds off the negative and onto our beautiful savior

As we look to Jesus we will be changed in His presence. We will begin to see that all things are possible for those who believe. As we meditate on what’s true, noble, authentic, lovely, and gracious, we will become people who see the good in others and circumstances, and overcome in life.

Philippians 4:8 (MSG) Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly

In the Moment

mountains-3As we walk along the journey of life we can pick up things that are heavy to carry: worry, shame, guilt, regret, fear, condemnation, bitterness. All of these things slow us down and cause us to stop moving forward at some point. However we don’t live in the past or the future, we live right now in the present and that’s where we can access amazing grace.

We were made to be light and free. God created us in His image to grow, develop, flourish and thrive. He plucked us from eternity and placed us in our time and location to steward His plans.

God not only created us but He desperately loves us. God loves us so much that He sent His precious only son to earth to rescue, restore, redeem and reconnect us to Himself. Now through Jesus and His finished work on the cross we can enter into the Great Exchange.

Now we can come to our Lord Jesus in prayer and exchange our sin, sickness, fear, and depression for His righteousness, wholeness, peace and joy. As we daily come to the throne room of our Father God, we will receive grace in time of need. As we stop focusing on what was behind or what lies ahead and we focus on the present, we will sense all of God’s strength, provision, protection, wisdom and guidance for today.

Matthew 6:25-26 – “For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? “

Engage.

ViewtyIn life we can discover that we took the wrong turn somewhere along the way. We can find ourselves on the path that leads to nowhere. Engaging our GPS can get us rerouted and back on track to where we were originally headed in no time.

We were made for connection with the infinite, omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent, King of the Universe. We are created for an exciting destiny of overcoming adversity, impacting people and leaving a legacy on the planet.

When we lost our connection we lost our vision. We thought we were here to set up our little kingdoms on the planet but we are actually here to bring the Kingdom of Heaven to earth. God saw us lost and on our own and loved us too much to leave us that way.

He sent His precious only son to earth to rescue, restore and reconnect us back to Himself. Jesus gave everything at the cross for you and me so we could have everything that the Father God has for us. Now we are children upon whom the Father lavishes His love.

As we cultivate our relationship with our Father God in prayer, we will be led on the path towards our destiny and purpose. God is able to take everything we’ve done or that has happened to us and work it all out together for good.

We will find that as we engage our Father God in prayer, worship and meditation on His Word that we will transform from the inside out into who we are meant to be, land where we are called to be and step into all that we were fashioned to do since the beginning.

Proverbs 3:5 (MSG) – Trust God from the bottom of your heart;
don’t try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
he’s the one who will keep you on track.

Lacking Nothing

IMG_3576As we travel on the journey of life, we can encounter detours, pitfalls, and closed roads. If we head the wrong way we can end up on a road to nowhere. However, if we have a seasoned traveler navigating us, we can be sure to end up heading in the right direction.

We were made for an adventurous journey of overcoming obstacles, impacting people and leaving a legacy on the planet. God created us in His image for love, relationship and mission. No one has our individual DNA or intricately designed fingerprints because we are a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.

The God of the universe not only created us but He radically loves us. His love became flesh and dwelt among us. The only begotten of the Father full of truth of grace loved us, embraced us and set us free. He gave His life for you and me so we could be the righteousness of God in Christ.

As we receive Jesus into our hearts, we receive the Holy Spirit as our guide. As we cultivate our relationship with our Lord Jesus in prayer and seek His will for our lives, we will sense His beautiful presence leading us. We will intuitively know which paths to take and what decisions to make. As we are led into green pastures and still waters, we will find restoration for our souls. With our Lord as our shepherd we will lack nothing.

Psalm 23:1-3 God, my shepherd! I don’t need a thing. You have bedded me down in lush meadows,  you find me quiet pools to drink from. True to your word, you let me catch my breath and send me in the right direction.

The Adventure

vintgar-canyon-riverWhen we find that we have no excitement in life but we are doing a million things, it might be because we have exchanged our passion for duty. Duty can carry us through to do the things that we are supposed to do, but passion takes us into the unknown where angels fear to tread.

We bear the image of the omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, infinite, King of the universe, and are made for an exciting adventure of overcoming adversity, helping others and leaving a legacy on the planet.

When we became separated from God we may have believed that we were an accident or useless here on earth, but nothing is farther than the truth. God made us and loved us so much that He sent Jesus Christ to rescue, redeem and die for us, so we could be reunited and have endless abundant life.

As we meditate on our Jesus and His sacrificial love for us, we will see our passion increase. As we study the Word of God to see Jesus revealed in the scriptures, we will fall more in love with the Altogether Lovely One. As we are fueled by passion we will effortlessly step into our adventurous calling, by being led by His beautiful Spirit into our destiny and purpose.

Ephesians 2:10 – “For we are the product of His hand, heaven’s poetry etched on lives, created in the Anointed, Jesus, to accomplish the good works God arranged long ago.”

Embraced.

purple-blue-sunsetIf we believe we are all alone in life, we can worry about the future. If we allow that worry to turn to fear then we can start to make one bad decision after another. We were never made to make it through life all alone.

We were made for a loving relationship with our creator, intimate healthy relationships with others, and for a fulfilling passionate purpose on planet earth. We may have once been separated from all that God designed but now we are only one prayer away from receiving it all back again.

God loved each and every one of us so much that He sent His precious only son to earth for us to rescue, redeem and restore us. Jesus walked the earth embracing us, healing us and setting us free. He gave His life for you and me at the cross. Now because of His finished work we can be reconnected to our Heavenly Father forever and receive His endless abundant life.

As we seek our Lord Jesus in prayer, we commune with Him and we will sense His beautiful presence. He gives us His Spirit to quiet us, still us and fill us to the brim. As we rest in Him we will know what decisions to make and opportunities to take. As we abide in Christ we will be led by the Beautiful Spirit of God into divine relationships and to the community of believers; and mercy and goodness will pursue us all the days of our lives.

Psalm 23:5-6 (The Voice) – You spread out a table before me,  provisions in the midst of attack from my enemies; You care for all my needs, anointing my head with soothing, fragrant oil, filling my cup again and again with Your grace. Certainly Your faithful protection and loving provision will pursue me where I go, always, everywhere. I will always be with the Eternal, in Your house forever.

Never Give Up!

IMG_2946We can feel sometimes like we are living under a rain cloud. We can see other people in the sunshine but we can’t seem to shake the clouds. Instead of trying to evade the storms of life, sometimes we just need to dance in them.

We were made to overcome. No matter what life throws our way, God created us to be resilient. He made us in His image and placed us on the planet to grow, develop, flourish and thrive.

Even when we became disconnected from our creator, God loved us so much He gave His only begotten son Jesus to us so we could be reconnected to Him and have everlasting life. Because of Jesus and His finished work on the cross we can have an intimate loving parent-child relationship with our Father God.

Now when we feel like giving up we can go boldly to the throne room of our Heavenly Father God and receive grace in time of need. As we continue in the grace of God we will overcome obstacles and challenges and find that instead of breaking us, they make us.

Philippians 3:14 – “…where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.”

Something Beautiful

blooming cameliaWe can be frustrated with our progress in life. We can dwell on all of our faults and shortcomings, failures and mistakes. However, our mistakes are not what define us, it is our value that defines us.

God made us in His image, and that makes us intrinsically valuable. He shaped and fashioned each of us individually with a specific purpose in mind. He made us for love, relationship and mission.

Even when we lost our way God sent love incarnate to earth to restore, redeem and reconnect us back to Himself. Now we can receive Jesus and His finished work on the cross and receive an endless fresh start. We become the righteousness of God in Christ.

Now no matter where we are or what we’ve done, we can begin to step into our specific purpose and destiny. Just as a seed that looks nothing like the plant it will become, we too can be planted in good soil, the body of believers and begin to grow, develop, flourish and thrive.

As we seek our Lord Jesus in prayer we will be watered by the spirit and warmed by the light of the Gospel. Just like the seed in the ground we will grow into something beautiful that is able to bear fruit and nourish many.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 “He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.”

Beautiful in its Time

1345God created the earth, the seasons, day and night and time on this side of eternity. Just as we have natural seasons, summer, winter, spring and fall, we also have seasons of life. God makes all things beautiful in its time.

God made us in His image for love, relationship and mission. He placed us on the planet to steward His plans. Even when we forgot Him, He didn’t forget us. He sent Jesus to earth to rescue, redeem and restore us to our original purpose.

As we receive Jesus, we receive God’s endless life. We become children of God upon whom the Father lavishes His love. Now we can be led by the Spirit of God into all truth. As we seek God daily in prayer we will intuitively know which decisions to make and paths to take.

Even when others can’t see the change in us, we can know that God is changing us from the inside out. As we abide in Christ, we will begin to bear the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. As we stay hydrated by the Spirit of God and warmed by the light of the Gospel we will be a well-watered garden flourishing in every realm of life.

Galatians 5:22-24 (MSG) –He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely. Legalism is helpless in bringing this about; it only gets in the way…
