We can go through seasons of life when it is smooth sailing but then we see the winds pick up. Before we know it we can be caught in a storm that we had no idea was brewing. Seasoned sailors know that if they can’t get to dry ground, they should turn and face the storm, to give them a better chance of not capsizing.
We were made to flourish. God created us to bear His image and to thrive. He plucked us from eternity and placed us on the planet for mission.
Even when we wanted nothing to do with our creator, God loved us. He sent His love to earth to save us not condemn us. As we receive Jesus and His finished work on the cross, we become children of God upon whom the Father lavishes His love.
As we face the storms of life we can boldly come to the throne room of grace in time of need. Our Father God is our shield and great reward. The world may throw fiery darts at us but our shield will protect us from every one. No matter the trial, we can know that God will work it all out for good, and by His grace we will be victorious on the other side.
One day he and his disciples got in a boat. “Let’s cross the lake,” he said. And off they went. It was smooth sailing, and he fell asleep. A terrific storm came up suddenly on the lake. Water poured in, and they were about to capsize. They woke Jesus: “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!”
Getting to his feet, he told the wind, “Silence!” and the waves, “Quiet down!” They did it. The lake became smooth as glass.
We can be filled with enthusiasm for the dreams in our heart. However, we can lose sight of them because of delays and disappointments. Thankfully, our dreams have no sell-by date. We can simply begin again to work towards our vision.
We were created for an exciting destiny filled with adventure, overcoming adversity and impacting others for good. Each one of us is specifically designed for a unique purpose towards God’s plans on the planet.
When we disconnected from God, we went off mission. God loved us too much to leave us lost. He sent His precious only son to earth to rescue and redeem us. Now as we receive Jesus into our hearts we receive His identity as the ‘beloved’ child of God. We are now children of the Father upon whom He lavishes His love.
God’s dreams for us will always take longer than we think and will impact more people than we can imagine. As we wait upon the Lord we will get fresh strength, we will run and not grow weary. As we execute the Kingdom dreams in our heart, we will see Heaven come to Earth and we will leave the planet better than we found it.
Isaiah 40:29-31 (MSG) – He energizes those who get tired,
gives fresh strength to dropouts.
For even young people tire and drop out,
young folk in their prime stumble and fall.
But those who wait upon God get fresh strength.
They spread their wings and soar like eagles,
They run and don’t get tired,
they walk and don’t lag behind.
Every good gardener wants their plants to grow and thrive. They place the seeds into good soil and ensure that the plants get plenty of sunshine and water. The good gardener does everything for the plants to flourish and expects them to bear good fruit.
God created us to flourish. He made us to bear His image for family, relationship and purpose. Each one of us He created unique for our specific destiny and call. God plucked us from eternity and placed us on the planet to steward His plans.
The world became upside down and we lost our way. The Good Gardener looked from Heaven to earth and saw us disconnected and He sent love incarnate to Earth to rescue, redeem, restore and reconnect us back to Himself.
Jesus came to earth and embraced us, healed us, and set us free. He gave His life for you and me so we could become children of God upon whom the Father lavishes His love. As we receive Jesus we are restored to our relationship with our Heavenly Father and His purpose for our life.
Now we are each placed in God’s beautiful garden. As we allow the Good Gardener to plant us in good soil, the community of believers, we will germinate and begin to grow. As He waters us with His Spirit, and shines His love on us we can grow, develop, flourish and thrive. The Good Gardener desires that we grow healthy and strong, able to withstand the storms of life, and that we bear the fruits of the Spirit.
Genesis 1:28 (MSG) – He created them male and female. God blessed them: “Prosper! Reproduce! Fill Earth! Take charge! Be responsible for fish in the sea and birds in the air, for every living thing that moves on the face of Earth.”
We can search for love in all the wrong places. When we fill ourselves with temporal things we will find we are still empty, because there is a void deep down in our heart that is only satisfied by infinite love.
God is love. He created us in His image for family, relationship and purpose. He shaped us uniquely with our own individual DNA and intricately designed fingerprints because we are that special to Him. He cares for each and every one of us more than we can comprehend.
When we disconnected from God, we lost our vision and we lost our way. God’s love left Heaven for Earth to rescue us. Jesus embraced us, healed us and set us free. He gave His life for you and me at the cross and now we can be God’s very own children upon whom he lavishes His love.
Now we can daily come to the throne room of grace in prayer and receive the love of God poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. The more we allow God’s love to fill us, the more we will experience peace that transcends understanding, fullness of joy and a confident expectation of good. Our Father God’s love causes us to become people of love; because loved people love.
1 John 4;8 (MSG) – The person who refuses to love doesn’t know the first thing about God, because God is love—so you can’t know him if you don’t love. This is how God showed his love for us: God sent his only Son into the world so we might live through him. This is the kind of love we are talking about—not that we once upon a time loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to clear away our sins and the damage they’ve done to our relationship with God.
We can face storms that leave us shaken and we can find it hard to move forward in life. There will always be another storm but there will also always be another beautiful sunny day.
We were made to overcome adversity in life. We bear the image of the infinite God of the universe and are intrinsically valuable. We are fashioned for a purpose and a destiny.
We became disconnected to our creator and we lost our way. God loved us too much to leave us all on our own, so He sent His precious son to earth to rescue, redeem, reconnect and restore us back to Himself.
Now as we receive Jesus we can daily come to the throne room of grace in time of need. As storms come we can run to our strong refuge for shelter, protection and safety. Our Lord will see us through every obstacle and challenge in life and grace us for each day we face. As we get our eyes off our problems and onto our loving Savior, we will find that we soar over every storm.
Somewhere along the path of life we may have forgotten why we are here. We can think it is to have a nice life and to make it through, but the truth is we are here to make the planet a better place.
God created us on purpose for a purpose. He made us to bear His image. He fashioned us with our strengths, giftings, talents and abilities. He designed our unique DNA and intricate fingerprints. We are marked for destiny.
We were placed on the planet to flourish and thrive. However, when we lost our connection to our creator we began to wither and decay. The world became upside down and we became disconnected. We couldn’t see the God who made us.
The God of Heaven and Earth sent His only begotten son to earth to rescue, redeem, restore and reconnect us back to Himself. As we receive Jesus and His finished work, we receive son and daughtership.
As children of God we carry authority on the planet. As we step into our calling we bring the Kingdom of Heaven to Planet Earth as we serve, love and help others. As we receive the abundant supply of grace and the gift of righteousness we reign in life.
Matthew 6:10 – “Bring about Your kingdom. Manifest Your will here on earth, as it is manifest in heaven.”
It is easy to take a wrong turn on the road of life. We look up to see detours, construction and dead ends. As easy as it is to get off track, we are only one prayer away from being back on.
We were designed for an exciting adventure of taking risks, leaps of faith and daunting feats of courage. We bear the image of the omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, infinite God of the Universe and are made to flourish.
When we lost our connection to God, we lost our way; but God’s relentless love left Heaven for earth to rescue, redeem, restore and reconnect us back to the Father. As we receive Jesus we are reconnected to the King of Heaven and back on mission.
As we rest in the finished work of Christ, we can discover the unforced rhythms of grace. We can be led by the beautiful Spirit of God into our purpose and destiny. As we are led to a table prepared for us where our cup overflows, we will find that mercy and goodness pursue us all of the days of our lives as we dwell in the community of believers forever.
Psalm 23:1-3 (MSG) – God, my shepherd! I don’t need a thing. You have bedded me down in lush meadows, you find me quiet pools to drink from. True to your word, you let me catch my breath and send me in the right direction.
We can be running the race of life and stumble over something. Instead of staying on the ground mourning the fall, we can simply stand up, refocus and start moving again.
We were made in the image of God. We were fashioned and designed for our specific call in life. God created us for an exciting life of overcoming adversity, helping others and impacting the planet for the Kingdom of God.
Even when we thought we could do life on our own, God knew we needed Him. He loved us before we ever loved Him. He sent that love to earth to live, die and rise for us. Now we can step into the finished work of Jesus Christ and receive the abundant supply of grace and the gift of righteousness that causes us to reign.
As we step into our destiny we can come boldly to the throne of grace in time of need and receive help daily. Free from rules and condemnation, we can be led by the Spirit of the Living God into His purpose for our life. As we abide in Jesus we will learn the unforced rhythms of grace and find momentum as we run the race with perseverance.
Hebrews 12:2-3 (MSG) – Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!
We can be so distracted with molehills that we turn them into mountains. We can feel paralyzed in life and fear moving forward. However, if we can move our focus off the problem and on to the goal we will have the strength to stand up and take that first step towards destiny.
We were made to overcome every obstacle, challenge and adversity that comes our way. We were created in the image of the omnipotent, omniscient, omnibenevolent, omnipresent King of the universe. As image bearers we are intrinsically valuable and designed for victory.
We are not just image bearers but we are radically loved by our creator, so much so that God sent His precious son to earth to rescue, redeem, restore and reconnect us to our Himself. Jesus embraced us by taking our place at the cross so we could take His place as the ‘beloved’ child of God.
As we receive Jesus we receive His gift of righteousness and the abundant supply of grace that causes us to reign. Now we can come boldly to the throne room of grace and receive help in time of need. As we behold the glory of our Lord Jesus, we will be effortlessly transformed from the inside out. As we focus on Him and His victory at the cross, we will run and not grow weary, we will soar over obstacles and challenges, and we will find ourselves in our divine calling flourishing in every realm.
2 Corinthians 3:28 (MSG) – Whenever, though, they turn to face God as Moses did, God removes the veil and there they are—face-to-face! They suddenly recognize that God is a living, personal presence, not a piece of chiseled stone. And when God is personally present, a living Spirit, that old, constricting legislation is recognized as obsolete. We’re free of it! All of us! Nothing between us and God, our faces shining with the brightness of his face. And so we are transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him.
We can have a million things to do and forget the one thing to be. If we don’t take moments to rest and simply be in the present, we will only be a person in motion, not a person moving forward.
We were made for communion with our creator, healthy relationships with others and a wonderful destiny to steward. Somehow we lost our way but God didn’t leave us disconnected.
Love incarnate came to earth and embraced us, healed us and set us free. Jesus rescued us when He took our place at the cross so we could have His place as the ‘beloved’ child of God. Now we can simply receive His gift of righteousness and be God’s very own children.
The more we sit at the feet of our Lord Jesus and receive love, the more we will become people of love. As we take moments through our day to listen to the Spirit’s guiding we will intuitively know which paths to take and which decisions to make. As we become people who receive the abundant supply of grace for today, we will step into all that God has for us since the beginning.
Ephesians 2:10 (The Voice) – For we are the product of His hand, heaven’s poetry etched on lives, created in the Anointed, Jesus, to accomplish the good works God arranged long ago.
