About Malika

I’m Malika Cox from Oklahoma City. I spent my younger years battling addictions, self-destructive behavior and low self-esteem. I was involved in the underground music and goth scene in both New York City and New Orleans.

In December of 1996, while I was living in New Orleans, I opened the Bible for the first time in my life, and read psalm 56:13, “For You have delivered my soul from death. Have You not kept my feet from falling, That I may walk before God, In the light of the living?.”

I knew for some reason after reading that psalm that morning I had to leave New Orleans immediately and go to the airport to fly home to Oklahoma City. I did not go into work that day and as it turned out, three of my co-workers were killed on a shift I was suppose to work.

After I learned of what had happened I was devastated. I knew my life was in shambles and at that moment I asked Jesus Christ into my life to be my Lord and Savior. I spent the first two years as a Christian in limbo. I knew Jesus had saved me but I didn’t know God’s Word or His promises for me as a believer.

I ended up finding a wonderful church in Oklahoma City and enrolled in a two-year Bible College. After graduating, I have devoted my life to Christian ministry, service, and the study of God’s Word. I spent seven years volunteering with at-risk women and have written and taught the GLOW curriculum for new believers in the faith. This curriculum is especially focused for for people who battle addictions, self-destructive behavior and low self-esteem.

I have just published the Glow from the Inside Out curriculum and I am working on Back to Eden: Secrets from the garden for holistic health body, spirit & soul. I am also currently in Graduate School studying Practical Theological at Regent University.

  5. This is what it’s all about. Our testimony of life and deliverance. Giving of one’s testimony is often the hardest thing to overcome and it is often the hardest thing to do. Yet, we are all vulnerable to life’s misery, addictions and shortcomings – and there is no shame in these things. They are, after all, that which builds our character and thus defines us as who we are – or, who we used to be.

    Your testimony gives hope to others…. an inspiration to those who have walked your mile – and can see that, through Christ Jesus, they too can overcome through Grace, faith and strength in Jesus.

    May the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob bless and keep you, and yours, always.

    Yours in Christ;
    Michael

    1. Hi Jon, thank you so much. I am actually working on a curriculum where I will go much more in depth on Supernatural Rest. I really try to just hear God on the flourish post for a morning devo of encouragement but I have your email. I should be through with it in the next few months and will let you know. I do think entering God’s Supernatural Rest is so important for a believer but it is not taught very often. Thank you so much for your interest. Blessings, Malika
